Food Pantry Closes in on 100,000 Meals Provided

Our food pantry ministry is in its second year and we are reaching a significant milestone. By September, we will have given away over 11,500 bags of food, which equates to roughly 100,000 meals. Parishioners volunteer to pack and distribute the bags.

Since 1899, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens has been changing lives and building communities while serving our neighbors in need with mercy and compassion. We are one of the 54 parishes in the diocese trying to ease food insecurity for our neighbors. Last year, Catholic Charities food pantries helped distribute more than one million meals to over 115,000 people. All the food items are purchased by Catholic Charities and funded by the generous donations of the parishes throughout Brooklyn and Queens.

We welcome all who can help in the packing and distribution. There is information about the pantry ministry in the back of the church or ask Father to direct you to a member of the pantry leadership team.
