Returning to Mass at St. Charles Borromeo Church

St. Charles announces the resumption of public Mass.  Welcoming our brothers and sisters to gather together in worship is a long-awaited event and we have been working diligently to provide a safe environment for Mass.

New Mass Schedule beginning the week of June 29

Weekday Mass – Wednesdays at 12:10 PM followed by the opportunity for private prayer until 2 p.m. Begins July 1

Sunday Mass – 11:15 AM. begins July 5 (also streamed on Zoom)

Private prayer on Tuesdays and Thursdays will be discontinued.

Please note: in-person Masses are dependent on having enough volunteer ushers (4) to implement safety procedures. Please check the website for announcements regarding schedule.

Attendance at Mass

The Brooklyn diocese has recently has approved the resumption of public Masses (with limited capacity and additional safety precautions). These measures are summarized in the diocese’s Returning to Mass video, which is posted on our website.

Persons with high vulnerability are strongly encouraged to remain home. Individuals experiencing any symptoms associated with COVID 19 or those who have been recently exposed to an infected person must not attend any Mass.

Due to mandated social distancing protocols, there is a strict capacity limit and we cannot exceed 25% of our building capacity.  We will be seating attendees on a first-come basis.  Once capacity is reached, we will not be able to admit attendees.   The church will open 15 minutes prior to Mass.

All attendees must wear a face mask upon entering and at all times while in the church.  Persons without masks will not be admitted.

An usher will greet you at the entrance of the church and direct you to your seat.  Those of the same household will be permitted to sit together.

Hymnals will not be available for use.  Worship materials will be provided for download on the website.  Please print them out at home or use your handheld device.

It is strongly suggested Holy Communion be received in the hand.  There will be no distribution of the Precious Blood.

Cleaning and Safety

St. Charles Borromeo has implemented stringent cleaning and safety protocols.  We ask that you please follow all safety instructions.

If you have any concerns, questions, or suggestions, please contact the Rectory or visit the diocesan website.

We are fully committed to serving the people of our parish and assisting you as we enter the next stages of re-opening our churches.  We look forward to praying together in the Lord’s house, and celebrating together in Communion with our Lord, Jesus Christ.
