3rd Annual Fall Concert

Celebrating the 130th Anniversary of the St Charles Odell Organ
On Saturday, November 6, at 7:00 PM St. Charles Borromeo will host our 3rd Annual Fall Concert. This year we will celebrate the 130th Anniversary of our Odell Pipe Organ, which was installed at St. Charles in 1880. Organist Jonathan Hall will present an informative and enjoyable recital on the church’s historic Odell pipe organ. A respected performer and writer about the organ, Jonathan will present spoken program notes that will highlight the instrument in a special way. Please join us and invite your family and friends for what will surely be a delightful musical evening.

Tickets for the concert are $20 if purchased in advance, and $25 at the door. Friend ($50) and Patron ($100) tickets are also available. Friend and Patron ticket purchasers will be mentioned in the Concert Program. Included in today’s bulletin is an envelope that can be used to purchase tickets. No tickets will be issued, names will be held at the door. Friends and family interested in purchasing tickets may send their request, together with payment, to the rectory.

A reception will follow the concert program.

A Call for Donations for the Organ Concert Reception
We will host a reception following the November 6 Odell Pipe Organ Concert and are looking for parishioners willing to donate finger foods. If you are able to provide a donation for the reception, please sign-up on the sheets in the rear of the church.

Rebuild Our Church Prayer Day Mon. 10/4

God called St Francis of Assisi to rebuild the Church!
We too are being called to rebuild our Church in the Diocese of Brooklyn. The Feast of Saint Francis, October 4, 2010, will be a Diocesan Day of Prayer for our Church, the People of God, in the Brooklyn Diocese. Please mark this date in your calendar and plan to be with us for a Mass and prayer service on Monday, October 4 at 8 p.m. The Church will also be open in the morning on that day to provide all a chance to pray for the reconfiguration of our Diocese.

Thanks to the Sisters of Saint Joseph

On Sunday, October 10th the 10:30 a.m. Mass will be offered in thanksgiving for the many Sisters of Saint Joseph who served our parish or lived in the convent of Saint Charles Borromeo. Our Parish Family was blessed to have these wonderful Sisters with us since 1963!
Please help us “spread the good news” about this opportunity to offer our thanks to the Sisters! A reception, with refreshments, will be held in the rectory after Mass.
